South Jersey Ballet has truly been like my second home for the past twelve years. While my parents and I were initially drawn to the school because of the high-quality ballet training, my years as a student have taught me so much more than just good technique. For instance, due to the countless performing opportunities that South Jersey Ballet offers, I have always been extremely comfortable dancing on stage and sharing my passion with the audience. This confidence can undoubtedly be linked to the support and encouragement I have received from my wonderful teachers, who have pushed me to reach my fullest potential as a dancer. I truly feel individually connected to each of them as a result of their warm and caring personalities. Over the years, SJBS has also introduced me to a variety of other dance styles, including jazz and modern, both of which I greatly enjoy. Because of my newfound love for modern in particular, I have decided to major in dance at Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University, where I will be taking daily classes in both ballet and modern dance. In addition, after years of watching, assisting, and being inspired by my teachers at SJBS, I also plan to earn a master’s degree in Dance Education, in order to continue sharing my passion for dance with others for years to come.

“I am so glad I found a school like South Jersey Ballet. Ever since
I was 3 years old, I’ve dreamed of being a prima ballerina. I know with
South Jersey Ballet School, I can work to make that dream possible.
Every class is hard work; yet fun and challenging. I feel like I am
always learning something new. I am proud to say that I’m always
being taught correct technique and I love knowing classes are taught in
a professional way. Being at South Jersey Ballet I feel I can express
myself not through words, but Dance.” – Amanda, age 13
